Instructions for using  AUDACITY  to change tempos of your music files for rehearsal purposes

Download and launch program.

On the toolbar, select “File.”

Then select “Open…” and locate the file you wish to listen to.

It will import and prepare your selection.

 

Once the file is loaded, again on the toolbar, select “Effect.”

Scroll down and select “change tempo.”

 

Move the scroll-bar to the left for the percentage you wish to slow the tempo, or to the right to speed up the tempo.  20% is a good amount to begin with.

 

Your file will now be playable from the Audacity player at an altered tempo.
